Russia’s largest packaging industry exhibition, RosUpack , will take place at Crocus Expo from 17–20 June 2025, running in parallel with the Printech, printing exhibition. The editorial team at Unipack.Ru interviewed Exhibition Director, Sergey Dityov, who shares insights into the event’s preparations and what’s new in this year’s showcase.
It’s time for RosUpack – the largest packaging industry trade show in the CIS. How has the preparation for this key event gone? Is the exhibition maintaining its leadership in 2025?
As always, we prepare the show throughout the year. So planning for the 2025 edition actually began as early as June 2024. It’s also worth noting that this cycle included a new addition: the RosUpack Summit, which we successfully hosted for the first time in December at the Hyatt Regency Petrovsky Park, Moscow. This was a new format for us, introduced in response to industry professionals seeking another platform to discuss the rapidly evolving trends in packaging and print.
The Summit was warmly welcomed – industry peers appreciated the opportunity for informal networking during the evening reception, featuring live music, as well as the conference sessions and site visits to key enterprises in Moscow and the surrounding region. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite all packaging and print professionals to our second edition of the RosUpack Summit, taking place 19–21 November 2025.
The preparation process is exceptionally detailed, as always. This year, RosUpack has not only maintained its leadership position as the largest packaging trade fair in the Russian-speaking market but has once again broken its own record in terms of exhibition space. In 2025, RosUpack and Printech will occupy 6 exhibition halls across two pavilions at Crocus Expo — up from 5 halls previously.
Printech celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and it’s being held at a high level, in line with its reputation as the leading international printing exhibition and the only one of its kind in the CIS. We’ve observed that supply gaps caused by the withdrawal of major foreign companies from the CIS market have now largely been filled by alternative regional and international suppliers . Interestingly, some of the companies that had previously exited the market are starting to show renewed interest in returning. For example, Konica Minolta is back with a booth at Printech after a brief absence.
First and foremost, I’d highlight automation and digitalisation of production – major trends that are very much influencing the packaging sector. The exhibition also reflects the new government regulations, such as mandatory product labelling, which has driven the development of advanced technologies prominently featured this year.
We also see a shift in polymer packaging, with new solutions and a move towards monomaterials. Paper and cardboard packaging is advancing as well — with new barrier materials and coatings that are easier to peel and recycle. And that’s just a portion of what’s new at RosUpack 2025. Come and see it all for yourself!
This season, over 1,000 companies have confirmed participation. Among them, more than 600 are regional exhibitors, 200+ are first-time participants, and around 40 companies are returning after a break.
The international profile remains extensive. As in previous years, China leads with around 350 exhibitors, followed by Turkey (approx. 50 participants). Notably, India’s presence has nearly doubled from 18 companies in 2024 to over 30 in 2025. This year also marks the first-ever participation from companies based in Saudi Arabia, and in total, more than 16 countries are represented.
Yes, we’re continuing to develop this segment, which logically connects with RosUpack’s Raw Materials & Components section. Our general partner this year is the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill. The pulp and paper (P&P) exposition is located in Halls 13 and 14 of Pavilion 3.
Additionally, we’re expanding the glass packaging and closures section within the Finished Packaging sector. A dedicated zone for exhibitors in this segment is also located in Hall 13, Pavilion 3. As always, Russian equipment manufacturers such as Avrora Plant, Bestrom, Russkaya Trapeza, Forintek, Signal-Pak, Vselug, and many others will be presenting their innovations. There are representatives from across all eight sections of the show. I can’t name them all here, so I warmly invite everyone to visit RosUpack and Printech from 17–20 June at Crocus Expo.
This year, the PART Award celebrates its 10th anniversary! The entry campaign began in March and runs until 6 June. Participants can apply directly on the exhibition website, choosing from 14 categories in which to showcase their innovations. All nominated entries will be displayed at the PART Award booth in Hall 15, Pavilion 3 during the exhibition.
Participants consistently note how much the Award helps promote their products to the right audiences. As always, we’ve assembled a jury of top industry experts. And this year, for the first time, the judging will happen live at the show. The winners will be announced the very next day at a special award ceremony, where the prizes will be even more special — anniversary editions of the PART Award.
The conference programme will run throughout all four days of the show, with two conference halls onsite: the Forum Hall and Dialogue Arena.
We’ll cover staple topics such as sector-specific packaging market reviews, analytics, forecasts, new technologies, EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), recyclable packaging, branding, and more.
We’ve also added many new themes this year, including:
Food safety
Logistics and cross-border payments
Automation and warehousing as the final stage in the packaging journey
Honest Sign (product labelling system)
Workforce development in the industry
The Printech conference programme takes place on the first two days, and we’re also bringing back the "Printer’s School".
As you can see, it’s a packed and exciting programme. We look forward to welcoming you in the conference halls!
